Introduction The emergence of Collective Intelligence in recent years is based on the recognition that our intelligence is deeply rooted in our social interaction. In addition, ICT (Information and Communication Technology) applications are strongly enhancing the effectiveness of our social interaction in complex contexts, and can still enhance it further. Freely quoting from the main page of the Center for Collective Intelligence at MIT Website, we can say that today people and computers can be connected so that—collectively—they can act more intelligently than any individuals, groups, or computers have ever done before.
